The 13th ExpoFlorestal took place in Albergaria-a-Velha between May 24 and 26. The transForm Agenda was in the spotlight at what is the largest and most important Iberian forestry fair.
On May 25, as part of the Agenda, the seminar “The Potential of Electricity in the Forest” was one of the highlights of Colab ForestWISE’s participation. This event, co-organized by ADAI, Altri Florestgal, Forecha, REN, The Navigator Company and Unimadeiras, highlighted the latest innovations in the use of electric and hybrid technologies in the forestry sector.
Aline Oliveira and Pedro Britto, representatives of CoLAB ForestWISE, presented current developments within the scope of the project “Boosting Electric Motorization in the Forestry Sector in Portugal”, as part of the transForm Agenda.
In parallel to the seminar, the “Electricity Roadmap” was held, an initiative that encouraged visitors to explore the various stands of the partners in the “Boosting Electric Motorization in the Forestry Sector in Portugal” project. The aim of this itinerary was to promote knowledge and dissemination of electric and hybrid equipment developed under the transForm Agenda.
This activity made it possible to put together a catalog of electric vehicles available in Portugal and to observe the interest shown by visitors in technologies that promote the decarbonization of forestry operations.
On May 24, Aline Oliveira represented CoLAB ForestWISE at the workshop on the European Anti-Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). This event, co-organized by ExpoFlorestal, Biond, the National Association of Forestry, Agricultural and Environmental Companies (ANEFA), Centro Pinus, Forestis, the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and the Programme of Endorsement for Forest Certification Schemes (PEFC), addressed the new legal obligations imposed by the EUDR.
Aline Oliveira also presented the solutions being developed in the Floresta 4.0 project, on the digital tools designed to facilitate the adoption of the EUDR in Portugal.
During ExpoFlorestal, at the stands of the Consortium’s partners, more information was made available about the transForm Agenda, with identifying signs that made it easier for visitors to access relevant content about the various initiatives underway.
