Agenda transForm Attends FIMAP with the Official Launch of the Electric Observatory

From October 24 to 26, the transForm Agenda participated in the 22nd edition of FIMAP – the International Fair of Machinery, Accessories, and Services for the Wood, Forestry, Logging, and Biomass Industry, held at Exponor, Porto.

In partnership with Field Tech Lab – CEIF / ADAI / University of Coimbra, our team showcased innovative projects shaping the future of the forestry sector, reinforcing a commitment to sustainability and efficiency.

One of the highlights of the fair was the participation in the project “Enhancing Electric Motorization in the Forestry Sector in Portugal,” focused on promoting electric solutions for the forestry sector.

On October 25, the team contributed to an open session dedicated to the potential of electrification in forestry. This session addressed critical topics such as the roadmap for decarbonizing forestry companies and trends in electric charging for forestry and logging operations. Electrification, seen as a vital pathway to carbon neutrality, is increasingly central to strategies for an environmentally responsible future in the sector.

Another significant milestone during FIMAP was the launch of the Electric Observatory website. Developed as part of the project, this interactive platform aims to centralize and disseminate updated information about electric, hybrid, and hydrogen-powered equipment available in Portugal, providing a comprehensive overview of key technological innovations applied to the forestry sector.

The Observatory aims not only to support companies in the energy transition but also to promote a more sustainable forest sector, aligned with the Carbon Neutrality Roadmap 2025 and the European Green Deal.
