Improving Soil Biome

Summary

This project will investigate the use of biofertilizers for enhancing productivity and resilience of the main forest crops, with the potential to substitute pesticides and other chemical additives, contributing to the recent EU Soil Policy implementation. The emphasis is on biofertilizers with demonstrated effectiveness in improving the quality of agricultural soil, as well as health and productivity of the crops.

Results

– new mapping services – land cover map for 2022, bi-monthly land use and land cover change maps, maps of vegetation cover in fuel management strips;

– new artificial intelligence (AI) models: stock classes (eucalyptus and maritime pine), estimated age classes (eucalyptus and maritime pine), post-fire landscape evolution, occurrence of pests (eucalyptus and maritime pine);

– rural fire risk warning and forecasting platform.
