Sound & Circular Industry

WP3 aims to contribute to circularity and resilience goals in the forest industries, trough the implementation of circular economy practices and other improvements in the eco & cost efficiency of logistics and industrial processes potentiated by digitization and automation. The emphasis is on the efficient use of wood, which is the main renewable resource of this industry, but also on a higher valorization of industrial sub-products from pulp and paper production, by their incorporation in novel bio-based materials, products, and biofuels. In particular, the biomaterials and bioproducts resulting from pulp and paper industrial processes can be used upstream in the value chain as fertilizers or amendments, or offered to consumers as a replacement for plastics and other fossil-based materials.
